Youth Empowerment

Under the Youth Empowerment program, CEMFIN runs and manages a group called the PEER Teens Zambia. It is an assemblage of youths between the ages of thirteen (13) through to nineteen (19) years. The purpose is to raise and prepare young people for prudent, competent and responsible leadership as they take up various leadership roles in their respective communities in future. Meeting twice in a month to learn God’s word and carry out various activities is the most regular of the activities of this group. Others are, carrying out various social welfare activities like hospital and prison visitations, ministering to the physically challenged and carrying out community evangelistic work under the social entrepreneurship strategy of this group. It is affiliated to a network of other PEER Teens groups across the world. PEER Teens scholarships are another very important feature of this program. Teens with exceptional leadership qualities, academic performance yet lacking financial capacity to attend and attain tertiary education are considered for a partial scholarship which enables them meet their desires and aspirations, through a highly competitive selection process.
